In the 1920s, traditional “sashiko” stitched fabric was used as the base cloth for first to third base on Japanese baseball fields. Jackman recreates this historic texture through a meticulous manufacturing process that honours both heritage craftsmanship and authentic sportswear design.

To faithfully reproduce the distinctive fabric, Jackman partnered with a Japanese martial arts equipment manufacturer established in 1918. Using a specialised loom and tightly twisted No. 20 cotton yarn, the fabric is woven to create a deeply textured, uneven sashiko surface with exceptional character and durability.
