In our opinion, YMC (You Must Create) is one of the strongest brands we stock. Founded in 1995 by Fraser Moss and Jimmy Collins, the name comes from Raymond Loewy’s idea that “you must create your own design style”, a principle that still runs through everything they do.
From the start, YMC took a different path. While much of the industry leaned into logos and trends, they focused on understated, functional clothing inspired by workwear, military pieces, and post-punk culture. The result is clothing that doesn’t shout, but always stands out.
For us, it’s the wearability that makes YMC a go-to. The Alva Skate Pant has become a standout in-store, easy, relaxed, and one of those pieces you end up wearing constantly. Their casual suiting and relaxed tailoring hit the same note: structured but never stiff, smart but still effortless.
Now under creative direction from Sage Toda-Nation, the brand continues to evolve without losing its identity, refining silhouettes while staying true to its roots.
