Shoes Like Pottery is a first-time addition to our in-store lineup, but a brand we’ve known and worn for years, especially Michael, who has been a long-time fan.
Handmade in Kurume, Japan, these sneakers are far more complex than they first appear. Each pair is crafted using a traditional process known as vulcanisation, where the shoes are fired in a kiln, a method that’s actually where the name “Shoes Like Pottery” comes from.
This firing process creates an exceptionally strong, water-resistant bond between the canvas upper and rubber sole, resulting in a sneaker that is both highly durable and surprisingly flexible. Built for everyday wear, they’re designed to support your feet comfortably all day long while developing even more character over time.
