Manastash – Sustainable Outdoor Heritage Since 1993
Hemp fabrics, technical design, and Pacific Northwest roots
We’re proud to welcome Manastash back to Uniform Buffalo for SS26. It’s a brand that played a big part in our early identity, and one we’ve always stood behind, for good reason.
Founded in 1993 in Seattle by Robert Jungmann, Manastash was built on a love of the outdoors and a commitment to sustainability long before it became industry standard. Known for pioneering the use of hemp and recycled fleeces, the brand quickly gained a reputation for durable, environmentally conscious gear inspired by the rugged landscapes of the Pacific Northwest.
Over time, Manastash found a natural home in Japan, where it has been based since 2005. Today, its collections are designed in Tokyo, blending technical performance fabrics with a more contemporary, street-influenced edge, without ever losing sight of its roots.
Culturally, the brand carries serious weight too. The iconic Kurtigan, famously worn on stage by Kurt Cobain, helped cement its place in style history. But beyond the headline pieces, it’s the subtle details, fabric choices, and considered construction across every garment that continue to set Manastash apart.
For us, this isn’t just another brand, it’s part of who we are. And it’s here to stay.
